Not so Rosie Lee
A series of drawings, steep prints, paper works and woodcuts that reflect the tradition that is steeped in flavour and history but with a bitter taste in its roots.
This collection of work began from the everyday routine of a cup of tea one morning and the starting point of questioning its pure existence and history built on a slave trade.
As with everything we can all make big or small changes in our lives to lessen the effects on the planet and other people effected by our habits.
Whilst making this work much tea was drunk and brands of tea questioned and changed to hopefully lessen the effect on the environment and people effected by this massive industry.
It is with hope that in a small way this work opens minds and questions the trade around tea which has been an English tradition for many years.
